今日は天気がいいですね。
　だいぶ温かくなってきた。
鳥のさえずりが落ち着く。
　燕はまだかな？

Swallows will not come around here.
　Don’t they?
They used to nest in the dirt floor at my place in the countryside.

この辺に燕は来ないでしょう。
　そうかな？
私の田舎では土間に巣を作っていたわ。

I remember fresh mornings surrounded by rice ears,
I used to get beetles and akebi.

稲穂に囲まれて清々しい朝を迎えて、
カブトムシやアケビをよく取りに行った。
カエルの合唱のあとに、
鈴虫の鳴き声が聞こえてくる。
